Q&A: is there a big difference between body / face moisturizers?

am i missing out if i use body mosturizers for my face such as aveeno daily or vasilin original?
how about “Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion” i believe it’s body but it says noncomedogenic (won’t clog pores)?
can anyone comment on this please

yep – body moisturizers can clog up your pores. They’re usually too heavy for your face. If you like aveeno, they make several nice moisturizers for the face at a reasonable price

A lot of body moisturizers are too heavy for the face. They may make you break out, be over-moisturized, and you might have a hard time keeping shine free. Facial moisturizers tend to be lighter and better for the face.

Yes there is a difference between body and face moisturizers. You face and body skin has a different Ph balance and different moisturizers respond differently to Ph balances of your face and body skin.

Yes some body lotions can be a little more harsh on the face. You need to be sensitive with the face same with applying on the face too. Dont scrub too hard

Yes, there is a big difference between facial and body moisturizers. Body moisturizers are much thicker and clog pores whereas facial moisturizers are designed not to clog your pores while still improving and moisturizing your skin. When you buy a moisturizer for your face, make sure it is “non-comedogenic.” These non-comedogenic moisturizers are the least likely to clog pores.

Yes!! Do NOT use body moisturizers on your face! Body moisturizers are thicker and can clog your facial pores. I tried Aveeno facial moisturizers AND their skin moisturizers and found them to be overpriced and bad quality. I’ve switched to Jergens for my body, and Daniel Kern’s lotion for my face. Dan’s lotion is so light it goes on almost like water, but it still moisturizes!

A body lotion and face moisturizers are two completely different products. A body lotion usually contains fragrance and mineral oil that is harsh for the face. A body lotion can clog up the pores and cause major breakouts to the face. The ingredients in body lotion are not suitable for the face. Find a moisturizer specifically for the face. The ingredients were formulated for the face and will cause less irritants. The body lotion may say non-comedogenic but if its for the body do not use it.
